We are proud to announce that as of October this year, Imerso is officially collaborating with Leica Geosystems as their first commercial partner in Norway, making high-precision 3D Reality Capture even more accessible for the Construction and Property Development industry.

By integrating Imerso’s software with Leica’s industry-leading scanning equipment, this new collaboration is set to open the tremendous potential for Reality Capture across the entire building life-cycle.

A trusted, high-quality brand with a long history

Leica Geosystems is the world leader in measuring and 3D scanning equipment, with a range of solutions from airborne drones to self-learning scanning stations. Their history in surveying dates all the way back to the founding of Kern & Co. in 1819 in Aarau, Switzerland, and over the last two centuries, the company has become a household name in numerous industries.

Their promise of ‘Swiss technological quality’ is trusted by industry leaders across the world.

As accuracy and reliability is of key importance to our customers, finding a partner renowned for their equipment’s trustworthiness and manufacturing quality is a tremendous milestone for our team.

Award-Winning next generation scanning tools

With the release of the BLK360 in 2017, Leica has made high-precision 3D scanning as simple as pressing one button. This, at a fraction of traditional equipment prices. Whereas current high-accuracy laser scanners go for anything between $50,000 and $200,000, the BLK360 starts at $18,500.

Combined with Imerso’s intelligent field-monitoring software, it is now easier than ever to adopt 3D capture as an integral process of building and maintaining any type of property, from simple refurbishments to complex infrastructure projects.

The integration of these technologies allows our customers to get accurate data of real-life status with high frequency, creating a living, digital twin of any building site and giving property owners and contractors accurate real-time overview of their projects from any location.

A Killer Combo

Laser scanning is traditionally seen as an field requiring specialised expertise and utilising very expensive equipment for specific circumstances, such as documenting existing conditions as the basis for project planning. The BLK360 changes this: by making 3D scanners affordable yet retaining high accuracy, Leica has opened up a whole range of new use-cases across building life-cycles. Full 3D surveying of work sites at weekly - or even daily - intervals are now economically viable, allowing companies to access a wealth of data about their own processes without breaking the bank.

For us, this means that Imerso customers can utilise our platform to the fullest - taking control of their scanning frequency, capturing as much relevant data as possible, and scanning their work sites throughout all of the different construction phases - getting vital decision-making insights on the go.

In short, we are very excited to bring Leica Geosystems’ world-class quality equipment to our customers, and look forward to sharing more about this partnership in the coming months.
